ASIC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Common Hardware Group (CHG) to define and deliver verification methodology and infrastructure for large-scale ASIC programs used in switching, routing, and AI networking platforms. You will lead verification strategy, mentor teams, and influence ASIC architecture to improve silicon quality and verification efficiency.

Experience Level

Senior - this role expects senior-level experience (e.g., Bachelor's + 7 years, Master's + 4 years, or PhD + 1 year as listed in the minimum qualifications).

Responsibilities

Technical leadership across verification planning, infrastructure, and cross-functional delivery for complex ASIC programs.

  • Define verification vision, strategy, and execution across multiple programs and product lines.
  • Architect and implement scalable, reusable verification infrastructure and methodologies.
  • Serve as technical authority and mentor for verification teams; drive technical excellence and innovation.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve verification efficiency, coverage, and quality at scale.
  • Advise ASIC architects and designers to enable verifiable designs and high-quality silicon.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution during bring-up and post-silicon validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and leadership experience to perform the role; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have

  • Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and mainstream verification methodologies.
  • Proven experience architecting verification strategies for complex ASIC/SoC programs.
  • Experience leading verification teams or multi-team projects.
  • Scripting and programming: Python or Perl, and C/C++.

Nice-to-have / Preferred

  • Experience in data center, hyperscaler, or AI networking domains.
  • Contributions to industry standards or verification best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple protocols and large-scale SoC architectures.
  • Experience with advanced emulation, prototyping, formal verification, silicon bring-up, and post-silicon debug.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
