Job Title
ASIC Design Engineer - RTL and Circuits
Role Summary
Join the Circuit Solutions Group to design digital and mixed-signal IP for power delivery and power management used in NVIDIA GPUs. The role spans micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification collaboration, and work through backend tape-out with firmware and physical-design teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career β 1+ years of relevant ASIC, RTL, or VLSI experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include defining digital IP, implementing RTL models, and collaborating across front-end, back-end and firmware teams to deliver tape-out-ready designs.
- Define system-level and micro-architecture for mixed-signal chips focused on power delivery and management.
- Specify and implement digital IP blocks to improve GPU power and performance.
- Develop behavioral RTL models for mixed-signal blocks.
- Collaborate with RTL and design verification engineers to meet performance and quality targets.
- Review front-end design correctness (Lint / NA / CDC / Synthesis / DFT / LEC / STA).
- Work with back-end teams through chip tape-out.
- Define firmware interfaces and program flow for digital IP integration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience are listed first; followed by desirable skills.
-
Must-have: 1+ years of proven experience in logic design, RTL development using Verilog or SystemVerilog, and a strong understanding of physical design and VLSI concepts.
-
Must-have: Experience with custom digital design and behavioral circuit modeling for mixed-signal blocks.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with all stages of the ASIC design flow including front-end design and verification, DFT, synthesis, and timing analysis (STA).
-
Must-have: Strong teamwork and communication skills.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience in mixed-signal and custom IP design; familiarity with power-management IPs.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with standard interfaces such as JTAG, I2C, SPMI.
-
Nice-to-have: Understanding of firmware and embedded controllers.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field), or equivalent practical experience.
