ASIC Design Engineer - Pixel IP ANE
AppleJob Title
ASIC Design Engineer - Pixel IP ANE
Role Summary
Design and integrate pixel IP for the Apple Neural Engine, focusing on high-performance machine-learning subsystems. Work on RTL, integration, and cross-functional coordination with architecture, verification, power, physical design, DFT and test teams.
This role contributes to next-generation AI/ML hardware used across Apple products.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires approximately 3+ years of relevant industry experience (per minimum qualifications).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification collaboration, and integration of high-speed pixel IP subsystems.
- Develop RTL for high-speed, high-performance subsystems.
- Collaborate with design verification and formal verification teams to verify functionality and performance.
- Work with physical design and static timing teams to achieve production-quality netlists through synthesis.
- Analyze and validate clock domain crossings for correctness.
- Integrate with DFT and BIST teams to ensure testability and manufacturability.
- Coordinate across architecture, power, and other cross-functional teams during design and integration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for success in this role.
- Proven RTL design experience on high-speed or high-performance subsystems.
- Strong knowledge of computer architecture and bus topologies/protocols (AMBA).
- Experience analyzing and designing clock-domain crossing logic.
- Experience collaborating with verification, formal verification, physical design, and power teams.
- Experience with DFT/BIST and design-for-test methodologies.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working on large, high-speed compute systems.
- Experience with synthesis and creating production-quality netlists.
- Experience with static timing analysis (STA).
- Experience working with power intent methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required plus approximately 3 years of relevant experience (listed as "BS + 3 years of experience"). Field of study not specified.
