ASIC Design Engineer - Performance Monitoring
NVIDIAJob Title
ASIC Design Engineer - Performance Monitoring
Role Summary
Work on system-level RTL and methodologies to measure and improve performance of NVIDIA GPUs and SOCs. Join the SoC team to design RTL features, implement design automation, and support system-level IP performance monitoring.
Collaborate with architects, designers, verification, and software engineers to deliver high-quality RTL and automated flows.
Experience Level
Mid-level - 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL design, verification support, and methodology development for performance monitoring:
- Define and develop system-level RTL and methodologies to measure performance on GPUs/SOCs.
- Design and implement RTL features; execute the full SOC design cycle.
- Run and debug RTL checks (CDC, RDC, Lint, synthesis, logic-equivalence).
- Develop and automate flows and methodologies to build and support system-level IP.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, verification, and software engineers to accomplish tasks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong RTL design experience in Verilog and experience with SoC design/implementation flows and design automation.
- Good understanding of SoC/IP microarchitecture: data flow, control, multiple clock/power domain handling, and latency analysis.
- Proficient scripting skills (Perl, Python or equivalent) for automation.
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
- Exposure to design and verification tools such as dc_shell (or equivalent synthesis tools), VCS (or equivalent simulation tools), and debug tools like Debussy and GDB.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Adept at using AI tools to enhance productivity and solve complex problems.
Nice-to-have: experience with system-level performance measurement on GPUs/SOCs.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
