Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join the CPU Logic Design Team to design CPU on-chip interconnects, coherency, and last-level caches. The role focuses on micro-architectural definition, RTL coding, logic debug, synthesis and timing closure, and supporting verification and implementation.

This is an entry-level engineering position with opportunity to contribute to high-performance CPU features used across NVIDIA products.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” new college graduate (recent BS or MS) or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include delivering a specific on-chip unit and collaborating across verification and implementation teams.

  • Own design, delivery, and documentation for a defined CPU unit.
  • Write readable, high-performance, low-power RTL (Verilog).
  • Perform synthesis and timing closure; collaborate with implementation for timing, area, performance, and power goals.
  • Work with verification to ensure functional correctness of your unit.
  • Assist with timing closure of larger units and participate in lab bring-up and debug as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Experience in processor or other high-performance semiconductor designs.
  • Strong Verilog expertise.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification collaboration, logic synthesis, DFT, timing analysis, floor-planning, ECO, and lab debug.
  • Strong background in computer architecture, cache coherency, or high-speed interconnects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a global, cross-functional team.
  • Mentoring interns or junior engineers is a plus.

Education Requirements

Recent graduate with a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
