Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Entry-level ASIC Design Engineer on NVIDIA's GPU design team responsible for implementing high-performance, area- and power-efficient RTL for SoCs and GPUs. The role involves micro-architecture design, RTL implementation, and delivery of verified, synthesis- and timing-clean designs used across consumer graphics, AI, and autonomous platforms.

This position requires collaboration with architects, verification, synthesis/timing and backend teams, and supports post-silicon validation and debug activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level (New college graduate). Intended for recent graduates; typical experience: 0–2 years.

Responsibilities

Key technical responsibilities include:

  • Implement, document, and deliver RTL that meets performance, area, and power targets.
  • Analyze architectural trade-offs against feature, performance, and system constraints.
  • Design micro-architecture, implement in RTL, and deliver fully verified, synthesis/timing-clean blocks.
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, pre- and post-silicon verification, synthesis, timing, and back-end teams.
  • Develop and maintain IP such as GPU work schedulers, time distribution systems, interrupt controllers, and DMA engines.
  • Architect features to aid silicon debug and support post-silicon validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and traits:

  • Experience in micro-architecture and RTL development; practical Verilog experience.
  • Good understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, and timing analysis.
  • Exposure to digital systems and VLSI design, computer architecture, and computer arithmetic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Perl.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Experience with arbiters, scheduling, synchronization, bus protocols, interconnect networks, or caches.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field. Equivalent practical experience is explicitly accepted.
