Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer — Multiple Functions

Role Summary

Design, optimize, verify, validate, and document IP blocks and SoC components for high-performance, low-power products. Work on both digital and/or analog design flows and collaborate across hardware, software, and program teams to deliver silicon-ready implementations.

Experience Level

Mid-level / Mid-Career. Typical candidates have several years of ASIC design or verification experience (commonly 3–7 years); the posting indicates minimum experience thresholds depending on degree level.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on architecture, design, implementation, and cross-functional execution of ASIC/IP projects.

  • Define and implement architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and system simulations from system requirements.
  • Perform digital and/or analog block design, optimization, verification, and validation through RTL-to-GDS or custom layout flows.
  • Work across software, hardware, product, and program teams to plan and execute implementation strategies that meet system requirements.
  • Evaluate design flows including synthesis, place-and-route, timing, power, and verification to ensure quality and performance targets.
  • Author and review detailed technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in technical decision-making affecting multiple teams.

Requirements

Technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred. Degree and formal education details are summarized separately below.

  • Practical ASIC experience in design, verification, validation, integration, or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with RTL-to-GDS flow, custom circuit design tools (e.g., Virtuoso), or similar EDA toolchains.
  • Familiarity with design verification methods and flows.
  • Proficiency with scripting and programming for automation and design tasks.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate complex technical information in writing and verbally.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and influence decisions across teams; mentoring or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Nice-to-have: system-level architecture experience, low-power design techniques, or prior interaction with senior leadership on technical decisions.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications include one of: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years relevant ASIC experience; OR Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years relevant experience. Preferred fields mentioned: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science. The posting also references a preferred Master's degree and candidates with ~6+ years of ASIC-related experience for stronger consideration. Equivalent practical experience is accepted per the stated degree-or-experience rules.
