ASIC Design Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Work on RTL design, verification, and bring-up for Ambarella video/AI SoCs. The role is on an ASIC design team focused on video compression, image processing, neural-network/AI accelerators and processor cores for edge vision products.
Expect hands-on work across RTL implementation, verification, synthesis optimization, testbench development, and chip bring-up support.

Responsibilities
Main engineering tasks and deliverables:
- Design and implement video compression, image processing, neural-network/AI accelerator logic, and processor cores in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Implement RTL and develop verification environments using SystemVerilog, UVM, C++ and scripting languages.
- Synthesize and optimize RTL for timing, area and power; work on logic synthesis and timing closure.
- Develop unit and cluster-level testbenches, BFMs, random test generators, and functional coverage monitors.
- Create test plans, write random and directed tests, perform logic verification and functional coverage analysis.
- Develop front-end methodologies and tool flows and participate in chip bring-up and testing.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required for successful candidates.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, logic design and VLSI design.
- Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and Verilog; familiarity with Perl and other scripting languages.
- Experience with design verification and functional coverage methodologies.
- Ability to write assembly-language programs and automation scripts.
- Basic knowledge of logic synthesis and timing closure.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Nice-to-have: experience with UVM, C++ testbenches, and chip bring-up activities.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Posting specifies 0β5 years of experience. (No alternative degree or "equivalent experience" language provided.)
