ASIC Design Engineer, High Speed IO

Role Summary

Design RTL for high-speed IO IPs (UFS, Ethernet, PCIe, USB) used in next-generation automotive SoCs. Work on micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification, timing closure, and silicon bring-up as part of an ASIC design team located in India.

This role focuses on practical engineering delivery: architect modules, implement RTL, drive verification, and collaborate with timing, VLSI, physical-design and validation teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” requires approximately 2+ years of relevant RTL/digital design and verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this designer role include:

  • Define micro-architecture and implement RTL for assigned modules.
  • Make architecture trade-offs to meet performance, power, and area targets.
  • Drive and coordinate functional verification of implemented features.
  • Collaborate with HW architects on critical features and system implications.
  • Work with timing, VLSI, and physical-design teams to ensure timing closure and routability.
  • Support silicon validation and post-silicon debug activities.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of hands-on RTL/digital design and verification experience; strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must-have: Experience implementing micro-architecture and delivering RTL modules to meet performance/power/area goals; experience working with verification teams and closing timing.
  • Must-have: Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-speed IO protocols and HSIO standards.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with UFS, Ethernet, PCIe, USB IPs and CPU/microcontroller-based subsystems; experience targeting automotive SoCs is a plus.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to AI-assist tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) for productivity is beneficial.

Education Requirements

BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication (ECE), or a related technical field.
