Role Summary
Join ByteDance's San Jose technology team to develop video codec hardware and high-performance, low-power video processing IPs.
Work with architects, algorithm developers, and verification engineers to implement and optimize hardware accelerators for image and video compression and processing.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design of video processing hardware and collaboration across architecture, algorithm, and verification teams.
- Design RTL or HLS hardware accelerators for video encoding and processing.
- Collaborate with architecture, algorithm, and verification teams to define and implement efficient IP blocks.
- Optimize designs for performance, area, and power for video workloads.
- Develop and maintain verification testbenches and support system integration.
- Automate design and verification tasks with scripting and tooling.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred. Degree details are listed separately under Education Requirements.
- RTL design experience (SystemVerilog) or experience with High Level Synthesis (HLS).
- Practical knowledge of video codecs and video processing algorithms.
- Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM and with SystemC or DPI.
- Proficient scripting in Python for automation and tooling.
- Hands-on ASIC design or related chip-design experience.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional engineering work.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline — completed or in progress (listed in the original posting).
