Role Summary

Join ByteDance's Technology team in San Jose to design hardware for video codec and processing IP. The role focuses on building high-performance, low-power video accelerators and integrating them with architecture, algorithm, and verification workstreams.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Graduate). Suitable for recent graduates or students completing a Bachelor's degree; specific years of experience are not required.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

• Design hardware accelerators for advanced video encoding and processing.
• Collaborate with architecture, algorithm, and verification teams to develop efficient video processing IP.
• Apply computer architecture and ASIC design principles to image and video compression and processing tasks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills:

• Knowledge of video codecs and codec implementation concepts.
• RTL design experience with SystemVerilog or experience using High Level Synthesis (HLS).
• Proficient scripting/programming skills in Python for automation and tooling.
• Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM, SystemC, or DPI.
• Basic ASIC design and RTL verification concepts.

Nice-to-have:

• Practical experience from internships or projects implementing video IP or codecs.
• Exposure to low-power design techniques or production HLS flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline — completed or in progress.
