ASIC Design Engineer — Graduate (Video Silicon IP), 2026 Start

Role Summary

Design and implement hardware accelerators for video encoding and processing as part of a video silicon IP team in San Jose. Work with architecture, algorithm, and verification engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance, and low-power video codec IP.

Experience Level

Entry-level — recent graduates (BS/MS). Typically 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL/HLS design and cross-disciplinary collaboration to develop video codec hardware.

• Design hardware accelerators for advanced video encoding and video processing functions.
• Collaborate with architecture, algorithm, and verification teams to define and implement IP blocks.
• Apply computer-architecture and ASIC-design principles to compress and process still images and video.
• Develop and maintain RTL or HLS implementations and support integration and bring-up activities.
• Write scripts and tools (e.g., Python) to automate tasks, regression, and verification flows.

Requirements

Technical must-have skills and desirable additions.

• Must-have: Knowledge of video codecs; RTL design (SystemVerilog) or High Level Synthesis (HLS); familiarity with UVM methodology, SystemC, or DPI; Python programming for automation; understanding of computer architecture and ASIC design.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working with architecture/algorithm/verification teams, and exposure to low-power or high-performance video IP development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS/MS) in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline as stated in the posting.
