ASIC Design Engineer, Fabric/Interconnect
Role Summary
Design and integrate interconnect fabrics and the system memory hierarchy as part of an SoC design team. Implement RTL, integrate shared IP and memories, and collaborate with synthesis, timing, power, and verification teams to deliver production-quality blocks on schedule.

Mid-level — typically 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include RTL design, integration, and cross-team coordination.
- Design and integrate coherent and non-coherent interconnect fabrics into subsystems/SoCs (NoC topologies, crossbars, arbitration).
- Own RTL development: design, templating, scripting, and RTL generation.
- Integrate common/shared IP blocks and optimize memories and hard macros for the block.
- Work with front-end synthesis and STA teams to achieve timing closure for the block.
- Collaborate with power/performance and functional verification teams to ensure block quality.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary groups to track tasks, incorporate checks, and meet delivery schedules.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience.
- Proven RTL design experience and experience with RTL templating and generation scripts.
- Practical knowledge of on-chip interconnect architectures (NoC topologies, crossbars, arbitration).
- Experience with synthesis constraints, static timing analysis (STA), and timing-closure workflows.
- Experience integrating IP, memories, and hard macros into a subsystem or SoC.
- Experience collaborating with power/performance and verification teams; strong cross-team communication.
- Strong debugging and integration skills; ability to coordinate multiple parallel tasks to meet schedule and quality targets.
Education Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field plus 3 years of relevant industry experience.
