Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's VLSI team to design and verify transistor-level standard cell libraries and custom ROM modules at advanced process nodes. The role focuses on circuit design, modeling, verification, simulation, and establishing design flows that enable production silicon for GPUs and accelerators.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, simulation, and cross-team collaboration to deliver standard cell and memory IP:

  • Design and optimize transistor-level standard cells and custom ROM modules for deep-submicron technologies.
  • Drive circuit modeling and performance analysis for standard cell libraries.
  • Lead functional and feasibility verification of new ROM designs and establish associated design flows.
  • Develop and run simulations for margin evaluations and support enhancements to tools and automation flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve library quality checks and integration into downstream flows.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Strong background in advanced submicron process issues and practical experience building and verifying conventional cell libraries and custom ROMs.
  • Hands-on experience running SPICE simulations and ability to adapt to new simulation tools.
  • Experience with EM/IR, aging, noise, margin, and high-sigma variation simulations.
  • DRC/LVS debug experience.
  • Experience designing and optimizing flip-flops, level shifters, latches, register files, SRAM, or custom ROM structures.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation (Perl, Tcl, Make or similar).

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to standard cell, memory, or custom circuit development beyond basic responsibilities.
  • Experience with RTL, logic synthesis, and familiarity with place-and-route flows.
  • Prior leadership experience and strong interpersonal, proactive, and innovative work habits.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted (posting explicitly states "MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)").
