ASIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement digital micro‑architecture and RTL blocks for SoC Wi‑Fi products and own their delivery through full ASIC lifecycle. Work as part of an integrated wireless technology team focused on SoC infrastructure, chip integration, and verification.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have 5+ years of industry ASIC design experience; posting minimums vary (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Define micro‑architecture and develop RTL for new functional blocks.
- Integrate subsystems and participate in full‑chip integration and release management.
- Own designs through the complete ASIC lifecycle from concept to tape‑out.
- Collaborate with verification, DFT, FPGA emulation, and implementation teams to ensure deliverables and integration quality.
- Perform and triage design linting and CDC analysis to closure.
- Contribute to clocking and power‑domain partitioning and multi‑domain clock implementation decisions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years industry experience in ASIC design, micro‑architecture, and design integration.
- Strong SoC micro‑architecture experience, including specification and implementation of functional blocks.
- Hands‑on experience implementing multi‑domain clocking and working with clock/power domain partitioning.
- Experience with design linting and CDC analysis, including violation triage and closure.
- Solid understanding of AMBA bus protocols (AHB, APB).
- Proficiency in Python or Perl.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to AI/ML‑based design methodologies.
- Experience with ARM CoreSight debug architecture and debug interfaces.
- Experience with AXI, PCIe, USB peripheral subsystems, low‑power design, or on‑chip interconnect (NoC) implementation.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications listed in the posting: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
