Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer, Clocks

Role Summary

This role is a design engineering position on the NVIDIA GPU clocks team responsible for architecting, designing and validating clock RTL for GPU products. The team interfaces with frontend architects, backend physical-design teams, SOC verification, timing and DFT groups.

The engineer will deliver high-frequency, low-power clocking logic, run and improve internal flows for RTL and netlist quality, and support silicon bring-up and debug with software and silicon-solution teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting indicates approximately 2+ years of meaningful work experience; the role title is Senior.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, validation, and cross-team delivery of GPU clocking features.

  • Architect and implement clock RTL for GPUs with high-frequency and low-power constraints.
  • Collaborate with frontend architects, backend/physical teams, SOC verification, timing and DFT teams to meet architectural and physical requirements.
  • Run, extend and maintain in-house flows to verify RTL and netlist quality and drive resolution of issues.
  • Use scripting (Perl/Python) to automate flows and improve team productivity.
  • Debug clock-related silicon issues with software and silicon solution teams during bring-up.

Requirements

Key technical and interpersonal requirements. Education details are summarized separately below.

  • Must-have: Validated experience in RTL design (Verilog), verification and logic synthesis.
  • Must-have: Strong scripting skills (Perl, Python, or equivalent) to develop/automate internal flows.
  • Must-have: Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and communicate effectively in English.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of backend flows and physical-design constraints; familiarity with sub-micron silicon issues (noise, crosstalk, OCV).
  • Nice-to-have: DFT knowledge and experience implementing on-chip clocking networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; team-oriented and able to work in a dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

BS required or MS preferred in Electrical Engineering (EE) or equivalent experience; the posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree. The source also references 2+ years of meaningful work experience.
