RTL Design Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

As an ASIC Design Engineer you will design and deliver RTL for high-performance, area- and power-efficient SoC and GPU subsystems. You will implement micro-architecture, produce synthesis/timing-clean RTL, and collaborate with architects, verification, and silicon bring-up teams to deliver production-quality builds.

This role works on a range of IP including time distribution, engine schedulers, interrupt controllers, and copy engines.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects demonstrated RTL design experience; the posting requests a minimum of 2+ years of relevant RTL design work.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification collaboration, and silicon support.

  • Draft microarchitecture documents and implement high-performance, area- and power-efficient RTL to meet targets and specifications.
  • Analyze architecture trade-offs considering features, performance, area, and power constraints.
  • Implement micro-architectures in RTL and deliver fully verified, synthesis- and timing-clean builds.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and pre-/post-silicon verification teams to integrate and verify IP.
  • Work on IP such as GPU time distribution, engine scheduler, interrupt controllers, and copy engines.
  • Support silicon bring-up, debugging, and post-silicon validation activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; separate "nice-to-have" items follow.

  • Minimum ~2+ years of relevant RTL design experience (Verilog).
  • Strong micro-architecture and RTL development skills; familiarity with front-end flows including logic synthesis, power, and timing analysis.
  • Exposure to digital systems, VLSI design, computer architecture, and computer arithmetic.
  • Proficient scripting skills (Perl, Python, or similar) for design automation and flows.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong C/C++ skills.
  • Experience with multi-clock domains, asynchronous logic, interface protocols, and arbitration schemes.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
