ASIC Design and Integration Engineer, Silicon Security
Role Summary
The Silicon Security team designs hardware defenses and secure subsystems that protect Apple SoCs. This role owns micro-architecture, RTL design, and integration of security IP to meet timing, performance and security requirements.
You will work with Platform Architecture and Design Verification to deliver area- and power-efficient RTL blocks used in cryptographic engines, side-channel monitoring, and data protection logic.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities focus on front-end design, integration, and quality assurance of secure RTL subsystems.
- Define micro-architecture and implement RTL for secure subsystem blocks.
- Architect and design state-of-the-art security features in collaboration with Platform Architecture and Design Verification.
- Integrate security IPs into subsystems and verify interfaces, timing, performance, and security requirements.
- Resolve integration issues across multiple IP blocks and coordinate with IP owners on interfaces and functionality.
- Drive front-end quality flows from RTL to netlist, including Lint, CDC/RDC analysis, UPF development, timing closure, and synthesis.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve design quality and productivity.

Must-have:
- Experience or coursework in RTL design and micro-architecture for ASICs (RTL to netlist flow).
- Familiarity with synthesis and timing closure processes, and UPF-based power intent flows.
- Experience with static checks and analysis: Lint, CDC/RDC analysis.
- Ability to integrate multiple IP blocks and debug interface and timing issues.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with architecture and verification teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to security-focused IP (cryptographic engines, side-channel mitigation, data protection logic).
- Experience using AI-assisted design or productivity tools.
Education Requirements
