Job Title
ASIC Design and Integration Engineer β Silicon Security
Role Summary
Join Apple's Silicon Security team to design and integrate secure hardware subsystems for Apple SoCs. The role focuses on micro-architecture, RTL design, and integration of security IPs that protect device data and resist side-channel attacks.
The engineer will work with platform architects and verification teams to deliver performance-, area-, and power-efficient RTL blocks and ensure subsystem-level timing, functionality, and security requirements are met.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting indicates approximately 3 years of industry experience and 3 years of RTL design experience using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and implement secure hardware features and RTL for cryptographic engines, monitoring, and data-protection logic.
- Integrate security IPs into secure subsystems, ensuring timing, performance, and security requirements are satisfied.
- Resolve integration issues across multiple IP blocks and coordinate interface and functionality with IP owners.
- Drive front-end quality flows from RTL to netlist, including linting, CDC/RDC analysis, UPF, timing, and synthesis.
- Collaborate with Platform Architecture and Design Verification teams to meet delivery targets.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve design quality and productivity.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 3+ years of industry experience in ASIC/SoC design.
- 3+ years of RTL design experience using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with RTL-to-netlist flows and synthesis tools.
- Familiarity with static checks and front-end verification: lint, CDC/RDC analysis, and UPF.
- Working knowledge of timing closure and integration/debugging across IP blocks.
- Strong problem solving and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with cryptographic hardware, side-channel mitigations, or secure IP design.
- Experience optimizing for area, power, and performance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is specified.
