Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Power Modeling, Methodology, and Analysis Team to develop energy models and methodologies that quantify and reduce GPU and SoC power consumption. The team builds models that integrate into architectural simulators, RTL simulation, and emulation platforms to provide early visibility into workload energy use and influence architectural and power-management decisions.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with architects, performance engineers, software, ASIC design, and physical design teams to drive energy-efficient GPU and SoC designs.
- Develop methodologies and workflows to select and run workloads and to train energy models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
- Improve energy-model accuracy across constraints such as process, timing, floorplan, and layout, and correlate model predictions across design stages to bridge early estimates to silicon.
- Create tools to debug energy inefficiencies observed in silicon, RTL, and architectural simulators and work with architects to address them.
- Integrate energy models into performance, verification, and emulation platforms and prototype new architectural features to analyze system-level energy impact.
Requirements
Essential skills and competencies:
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and C++.
- Background in machine learning, AI, or statistical modeling.
- Interest in computer architecture and energy-efficient GPU designs.
- Ability to formulate and analyze algorithms and reason about runtime and memory complexity.
- Ability to apply quantitative analysis and analytics to improve product energy efficiency.
- Good verbal and written English and interpersonal skills.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with Verilog and ASIC design principles.
