Role Summary
Develop AI-driven software for VLSI circuit design within the Circuit Solutions Group, combining optimization algorithms, deep learning models, and agentic workflows to accelerate end-to-end design automation.
Work on research and applied projects spanning pre-silicon and post-silicon custom circuit design, data analysis, layout optimization, and correlation to circuit-level results.
Experience Level
Entry-level - New college graduate (targeting 2026 graduates). Suitable for candidates with limited industry experience; equivalent practical experience considered.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include research, prototyping, and delivering ML and agentic solutions for EDA problems.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams on pre-silicon and post-silicon custom circuit design projects and related datasets.
- Research and implement advanced electronic design automation (EDA) techniques and algorithms.
- Design, build, and evaluate agentic AI solutions and ML models for VLSI design problems.
- Analyze datasets, generate and validate hypotheses, and iterate models/algorithms to meet quality-of-results (QoR) targets.
- Integrate models and algorithms into larger EDA workflows and tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience; equivalent practical experience accepted.

Must-have:
- Experience in Combinatorial Optimization applied to engineering problems.
- Experience with agentic AI and large language models.
- Machine learning experience specifically applied to chip design and EDA.
- Strong background in algorithms and data structures.
- Applied mathematics, machine learning, and software programming experience with proficiency in Python and C++.

Nice-to-have:
- Prior large-scale EDA software development experience.
- Experience with CMOS layout, schematic-to-layout translation, and DRC/LVS compliance.
- Cross-functional collaboration and technical presentation skills.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
