Job Title

Applied AI Engineer - Silicon Co-Design Group

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group to design and deploy applied AI solutions that improve the efficiency, scalability, and intelligence of chip design, validation, and automation workflows. The role involves architecting end-to-end systems, integrating AI across engineering teams, and driving projects from prototype to production.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” expects approximately 6+ years of relevant experience, with demonstrated ownership of production ML/AI systems or data-intensive backend services.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities center on applying LLMs and AI to silicon validation and automation, collaborating across teams, and measuring impact.

  • Design and deploy LLM-powered validation pipelines to accelerate post-silicon validation and testing.
  • Architect and implement AI solutions that improve workflow efficiency, scalability, and automation.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with cross-functional engineering teams and translate requirements into production systems.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging AI frameworks, architectures, and tools for adoption.
  • Build data systems and metrics to quantify AI impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead projects end-to-end from prototype to production deployment, including performance and reliability considerations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact; separate section for differentiators.

  • Must-have: 6+ years building and deploying ML/AI systems or data-intensive backend services.
  • Must-have: 2+ years owning an applied AI product, LLM-powered workflow, or intelligent automation system end-to-end.
  • Must-have: Strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one static language (C, C++, C#, Java, or Scala).
  • Must-have: Strong electrical engineering fundamentals: computer architecture, high-speed interfaces, timing, power basics, and firmware/driver interaction.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience in production test, system validation, post-silicon bring-up, reliability, or silicon productization (ATE, SLT, board-level test, validation, yield analysis).
  • Must-have: Experience in a silicon development environment and familiarity with manufacturing/quality metrics (yield, FPY, DPPM, RAS, TTR, escape rate).
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience building and deploying orchestration agents at scale and translating AI research into production tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and agent/orchestration toolkits (NeMo Agent Toolkit, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, n8n).
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to GPU, CPU, AI accelerator, networking, automotive, or other large-scale SoC programs.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
