Job Title

Applications Support Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical support and product expertise for the Questa verification product line (including OneSpin Static Formal). Work with product engineering, field application engineers, and customers to resolve functional verification issues and improve customer workflows.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting customer designs and environments, creating knowledge-base content, delivering technical presentations and training, and participating in evaluations and competitive benchmarking. The role is hybrid and based in Austin, TX with collaboration across North America and PACRIM teams.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer-facing support, technical enablement, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex customer issues in functional verification, design RTL, testbenches, and environments.
  • Support Questa and OneSpin Static Formal products in customer engagements and evaluations.
  • Create and maintain knowledge-base articles, application notes, and support documentation.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations for customers and partners.
  • Collaborate with product engineering and field application engineers to reproduce and escalate product issues.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and provide feedback to product teams.
  • Manage multiple customer engagements and priorities across the North American and PACRIM regions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, platform knowledge, and interpersonal abilities required to perform the role.

  • Knowledge of RTL languages and verification languages: VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with ASIC or FPGA hardware design and RTL implementation flows and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with customers to reproduce issues, gather data, and drive resolution across teams.
  • Position is subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR); employment contingent on U.S. Person status or obtaining an export license as required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with UVM and SystemVerilog for verification.
  • Knowledge of Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), static and formal verification methods and formal applications.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Tcl, Perl, or Python.
  • Familiarity with low-power and formal verification methodologies and competitive verification tools.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Electronic or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution. Preferred: Master's degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering.
