Role Summary
Customer-facing staff engineer providing technical runset support and post-sales expertise for foundry and design customers. The role focuses on runset programming, product implementation, troubleshooting, and enabling customers to deploy Synopsys EDA solutions successfully.
Work closely with foundries, design teams, and sales to ensure technical requirements are met and to drive product adoption and improvements.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff-level). The role expects demonstrated experience in ASIC/VLSI design flows and EDA tool usage.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain ICV runsets for key foundry customers to ensure correct behavior and performance.
- Provide post-sales technical support during runset programming, installation, and product maintenance.
- Customize solutions to meet specific customer installation and workflow requirements.
- Offer pre-sales technical support in collaboration with sales to enable successful customer onboarding.
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues in customer environments.
- Train and empower customers to deploy and maximize value from EDA tools and flows.
- Collect customer feedback and identify opportunities for product improvements to share with development teams.
- Document implementations and facilitate knowledge transfer between Synopsys and customer teams.
Requirements
Must-have competencies and skills:
- Basic understanding of the IC design process; familiarity with Design Rule Checking (DRC) is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of ASIC design flow, VLSI concepts, and CAD engineering principles.
- Familiarity with EDA tool areas such as verification, place-and-route, design reuse, and physical design.
- Proven ability to manage technical projects from initiation through completion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and good technical judgment.
- Customer-facing communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working directly with foundries or in a customer application/services role.
- Prior exposure to runset programming or EDA product integration projects.
