Applications Engineering Staff Engineer - DFT
Role Summary
Senior applications engineer responsible for supporting customers in ASIC DFT (Design-for-Test) solutions. The role works with solution architects, R&D and customer teams to evaluate design flows, provide DFT IP and insertion guidance, and ensure successful pattern generation and validation.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on ASIC DFT design experience.
Responsibilities
Provide technical DFT support and consulting to customer projects and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with customers to assess methodologies, design flows, and test strategies.
- Participate in customer design and flow reviews; advise on memory/scan architecture, DFT IP insertion, pattern generation, and validation flows.
- Support customers using Synopsys test automation tools across diverse applications.
- Work with solution architects and R&D to develop and deliver tailored DFT solutions.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations in English to internal and external teams.
- Keep current with DFT methodologies and tool advancements to improve practices and support.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on ASIC DFT design experience.
- Strong knowledge of DFT methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Experience with industry-standard DFT tools, simulators, and waveform debug tools.
- Hands-on experience with DFT circuit insertion, pattern generation, and validation.
- Solid understanding of chip design, DFT principles, static timing analysis (STA), and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Excellent English communication skills for customer-facing support.
- Analytical problem-solving and ability to evaluate and improve customer flows.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of DDR/LPDDR.
Education Requirements
BE/ME or BTech/MTech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related technical field) as stated in the posting.
