SynopsysJob Title
Applications Engineering, Senior Engineer - FPGA
Role Summary
Join the HAPS FPGA prototyping and ProtoCompiler field team to lead technical pre-sales engagements. You will design and present prototyping solutions, run evaluations and proofs-of-concept, and act as a technical advisor to customers and the sales organization.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests 1β2+ years of hands-on FPGA prototyping, ASIC design, or SoC validation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on technical engagement with prospective customers to demonstrate and deploy FPGA prototyping solutions.
- Lead pre-sales technical engagements for HAPS FPGA prototyping platforms and ProtoCompiler.
- Assess customer SoC validation challenges, design requirements, and timelines to propose tailored solutions.
- Design partitioning, performance, and debug strategies that integrate with customers' RTL-to-hardware workflows.
- Conduct technical evaluations, proofs-of-concept, and benchmarks to validate solution fit and reduce risk.
- Deliver demos, technical presentations, and architecture reviews to engineering and executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales to qualify opportunities, set technical milestones, and move deals through the pipeline.
- Build long-term technical relationships with customer architects and engineering leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes for effective customer engagements.
- Hands-on experience in FPGA-based prototyping, ASIC design, or SoC validation; practical knowledge of RTL-to-hardware workflows and bring-up issues.
- Strong familiarity with FPGA architectures (Xilinx, Intel) and RTL design using Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience with synthesis flows, hardware bring-up, and debug techniques for prototypes.
- Ability to translate technical trade-offs into business value and communicate effectively to both engineers and program managers.
- Comfortable traveling to customer sites on short notice for evaluations and technical engagements.
- Experience with HAPS platforms, ProtoCompiler, or similar FPGA prototyping tools is highly desirable.
Education Requirements
