Applications Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship within Applications Engineering supporting RF and analog product evaluation, test automation, data analysis, and documentation. Assignments are in business groups such as High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, Connectivity and Sensors, or Global Operations and vary based on business needs.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Intern). Intended for current college students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for the internship include hands-on testing, automation, analysis, and documentation.

  • Automate testing workflows and instrument control for RF measurements.
  • Extract and process data from test instruments; analyze and summarize results.
  • Perform manual RF measurements using spectrum and network analyzers.
  • Simulate and design RF networks and prepare related documentation.
  • Create presentations, datasheets, application notes, and marketing collateral based on test data.
  • Compare device performance to competitor parts and support product spec reviews.
  • Assist with test assembly drawings and automation of design-review document creation.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes for candidates (education requirements are listed separately below).

  • Coursework or experience in analog/RF circuit design.
  • Proficiency with programming for test and data tasks (Python, SQL, C# preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to summarize and present technical results.
  • Self-starter with interest in a career in RF engineering.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Qorvo's internship program is for college students; minimum GPA of 3.3 is requested.
