Job Title
Applications Engineering Architect
Role Summary
Lead pre-sales technical engagements for HAPS FPGA prototyping platforms and ProtoCompiler, partnering with sales and customers to design and validate prototyping solutions for SoC validation challenges.
Run technical evaluations and proof-of-concepts, de-risk customer decisions, shorten sales cycles, and provide product feedback to influence roadmap and long-term customer success.
Experience Level
Senior β 15+ years of relevant hands-on experience in FPGA-based prototyping, ASIC design, or SoC validation.
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on architecting customer-specific prototyping solutions and driving technical activities that enable sales.
- Lead pre-sales technical engagements for HAPS FPGA prototyping platforms and ProtoCompiler.
- Architect and present tailored prototyping solutions addressing partitioning, performance, debug, and integration with customer flows.
- Conduct technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and benchmarks to demonstrate solution value.
- Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and architecture reviews to engineering teams and executives.
- Collaborate with sales to qualify technical fit, handle objections, and advance opportunities.
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs with detailed, accurate technical content.
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer architects and engineering leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; a short list of desirable additions is included.
- 15+ years hands-on experience in FPGA-based prototyping, ASIC design, or SoC validation.
- Deep understanding of RTL-to-hardware workflows, synthesis flows, hardware bring-up, and debug.
- Strong command of FPGA architectures (Xilinx, Intel, or similar) and RTL design in Verilog or VHDL.
- Proven track record in pre-sales or customer-facing technical roles supporting complex EDA tool sales or hardware platform engagements.
- Ability to architect solutions for multi-million gate designs including partitioning strategies, clocking, and system integration.
- Comfort with travel (potentially 30β50%) to customer sites for evaluations and engagements.
- Nice-to-have: experience with HAPS platforms, ProtoCompiler, or similar FPGA prototyping tools.
