Applications Engineer (Intern)

Role Summary

Support validation of new Monolithic Power Systems integrated circuits for high-voltage power applications. Work within the hardware and simulation team to design, simulate, build, and test power-electronics circuits and measurement setups.

Collaborate with IC designers to debug devices under test and document verification results.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. This is an internship role; prior hands-on laboratory or project experience in power electronics is preferred but no specific years of professional experience are required.

Responsibilities

Primary tasks and day-to-day activities:

• Design, simulate, and validate power-electronics circuits to meet specifications.
• Prepare hardware and software measurement setups with the hardware & simulation team.
• Develop schematics and PCBs for test solutions.
• Create and validate device models (SPICE).
• Work with IC design team to debug and troubleshoot devices under test.
• Generate documentation and test reports summarizing results and procedures.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

• Hands-on experience verifying and troubleshooting electronic circuits (firmware and hardware).
• Familiarity with electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to work analytically and creatively in a problem-solving environment.
• Good oral and written communication and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is specified; subjects related to power electronics and control are desired.
