Applications Engineer for High Reliability Compute Power
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for system-level architecture, product definition, and application support for power management solutions in high-reliability compute applications (satellite, aerospace, defense).
Works with customers, marketing, sales, and field application engineers to drive product development, support design-in activities, and influence product roadmap. Occasional travel (up to 10%).
Experience Level
Senior-level; typically 5β10 years of relevant experience in product definition, system engineering, or applications for high-reliability systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer support, product promotion, competitive analysis, and new product development and launch.
- Partner with marketing to prepare technical collateral and product materials for field teams and customers.
- Support field applications and customer engineers to design in MPS compute power products; provide remote or on-site debugging and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and communicate competitive landscape and product differentiation.
- Gather and translate customer requirements into product ideas and influence product roadmap.
- Lead development of datasheets and other technical collateral for new product releases.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and internal engineering teams throughout product lifecycle.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience for successful performance in this role; additional desirable experience noted separately.

Must-have: 5β10 years of experience in product definition, system engineering, or applications for high-reliability systems.

Must-have: Practical experience with PCB design, schematics, and layouts.

Must-have: Hands-on experience using lab equipment to test and debug power management ICs.

Must-have: Deep understanding of high-reliability semiconductor component specifications and system-level power delivery for SoCs/CPUs/GPUs/FPGAs.

Must-have: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to communicate technical value to customers and field teams.

Nice-to-have: Experience specifically with power management ICs for space or satellite SoC power.

Other: Ability to travel up to 10% for customer or field support.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent education required; equivalent practical experience accepted.
