Applications Engineer for High Reliability Compute Power
Role Summary
Senior-level engineer responsible for system-level architecture, product definition, and application support for power-management solutions used in high-reliability compute applications (e.g., satellites, aerospace, defense).
Will work with customers, marketing, sales, and field application engineers to develop new products and support design-in of MPS compute power solutions. Location: San Jose, CA or Kirkland, WA.
Experience Level
Senior-level; the role prefers 5β10 years of relevant experience in product definition, system engineering, or applications for high-reliability systems.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include product definition, customer support, and enabling design wins for high-reliability compute power solutions.
- Drive system-level power-architecture and product definition for compute SoC/CPU/GPU/FPGA power delivery in high-reliability applications.
- Support customer design-in activities and resolve design issues remotely or on-site.
- Partner with marketing to produce collateral and technical materials to support field teams and customers.
- Perform competitive analysis to inform product positioning and roadmap.
- Identify customer needs to influence new product and product-family development.
- Develop datasheets and technical collateral to support product launches.
- Provide lab support: test, debug, and validate power-management ICs and reference designs.
- Travel to customer sites or events as required (up to ~10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items are noted separately.

Must-have: Hands-on PCB design experience and strong understanding of schematics and board layouts.

Education Requirements
BSEE (Electrical Engineering) or equivalent education required.
