Applications Engineer (Embedded) - 2027 Graduate Program

Role Summary

Customer-facing applications engineer on TI's embedded products team in Shanghai. Provide technical support, system-level solutions, and product positioning to help customers integrate TI devices into end products.

Work includes hands-on debugging, lab validation, customer engagement (virtual and in-person), and collaboration with product marketing and engineering teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” new graduate / campus hire (0–2 years).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engage with customers to understand requirements and propose TI-based solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customer designs and prototypes.
  • Develop end-equipment expertise for assigned product lines and assist in system-level debugging and validation.
  • Position TI products in customer applications and support product selection and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, systems, and engineering to communicate customer feedback and help define product needs.
  • Perform hands-on lab work and demonstrations to validate solutions.

Requirements

Summary of required and preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication; teamwork and collaboration; analytical and problem-solving skills; initiative and time-management; ability to learn systems and processes quickly.
  • Nice-to-have: Programming in C/C++ (LabView recommended); basic understanding of schematics, PCB layout and digital components; knowledge of MCU resources (op-amps, ADC/DAC, timers, PWM, comparators, communication interfaces); experience with oscilloscopes, soldering and hands-on debugging.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0/4.0.
