Applications Engineer
Role Summary
This role provides application support for high-speed amplifiers across product definition, characterization, evaluation, and post-ramp customer support.
The engineer will work with customers and internal teams to debug designs, create evaluation modules and reference designs, perform bench characterization and automation, and produce technical documentation.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Minimum guidance: 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer support, evaluation hardware development, and validation of high-speed amplifier products.
- Respond to customer technical questions via forums, email, and on-site support when required.
- Review customer schematics and PCB layouts and reproduce issues on evaluation or customer boards for debugging.
- Design, build, and release evaluation modules (EVMs) and internal boards for correlation and product evaluation.
- Create user guides, test procedures, application notes, and reference designs for customer use.
- Perform bench characterization and automated testing of high-speed amplifier devices; develop test techniques and supporting hardware.
- Participate in datasheet reviews and early silicon testing from an applications perspective, including robustness and destructive testing.
- Collaborate with systems and product engineers to support early design-in activities for new products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.

Must-have: 5+ years of relevant experience in applications support for analog products.
- Proven hardware and software debugging skills for analog/PCB systems.
- Experience with bench characterization, test automation, and hardware design for evaluation platforms.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce clear documentation (user guides, test procedures, application notes).
- Ability to work cross-functionally and support customer-facing activities.

Nice-to-have: Experience building reference designs and correlation between EVMs and customer boards; strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or a related technical field (Degree Level: Bachelor's).
