Applications Engineer
Role Summary
The Applications Engineer connects Efficient's processor technology to real-world embedded products by designing and implementing board-level and software solutions tailored to customer use cases. The role is customer-facing and requires hands-on work across hardware and software to enable product integration and deployment.

Mid-level; requires 3+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
Responsibilities
Deliver customer-facing embedded solutions and technical enablement across the full stack.
- Partner with customers to gather application requirements and diagnose system challenges.
- Design and implement board-level and embedded solutions that meet customer needs.
- Develop and optimize software and firmware across a variety of embedded platforms.
- Integrate across board design, firmware, and software to deliver robust solutions.
- Collaborate with internal architecture, hardware, and software teams to refine customer-facing solutions.
- Develop reference designs, demos, and technical collateral to showcase the technology.
- Support customers through the development lifecycle from initial design to final deployment.
- Collect and relay field feedback to guide product improvements and feature development.
Requirements
Core qualifications and preferred skills.
- Must-have: 3+ years of embedded systems development experience with strong software and firmware skills.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with multiple embedded platforms and a strong understanding of board design and system integration.
- Must-have: Proven experience in application engineering or other customer-facing technical roles; strong verbal and written communication.
- Must-have: Willingness to travel to customer sites, company offices, and industry events (up to 30%+ as needed).
- Must-have: Certain customer assignments may require U.S. citizenship.
- Nice-to-have: Prior solutions engineering or field application engineering experience; experience building reference designs or developer kits.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with performance, power, and efficiency trade-offs in embedded computing systems.
- Nice-to-have: Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
