Applications Engineer, 3D-IC Solutions Sales

Role Summary

Support consultative sales for Siemens EDA 3D-IC and advanced packaging solutions, driving technical design wins at semiconductor and electronic equipment manufacturers. The role focuses on technical demonstrations, benchmarks, solution development and account strategy for key accounts primarily in Korea, with coordination across global teams.

Responsible for promoting Siemens Innovator3D and the Calibre 3D-IC product family, and for translating customer requirements into validated technical proposals and workflows.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typically 4+ years of experience in the semiconductor or package design domain).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Secure technical design wins for 3D-IC and packaging solutions.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and benchmarks for customers.
• Develop 3D-IC design flows and automation scripts based on customer requirements.
• Create account strategies and solution proposals to increase market share.
• Provide technical support to key accounts and coordinate with global teams.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support customer engagements.
• Report status and technical recommendations to internal stakeholders and customers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 4+ years of experience in the semiconductor or package design domain.
• Knowledge of IC and packaging data formats (Verilog, LEF/DEF, GDS, OASIS, ODB++).
• Familiarity with 2.5D/3D-IC integration technology and chiplet design concepts.
• Proficient scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar).
• Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel for customer engagements.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior customer-facing or field-facing experience.
• Experience with Innovator3D IC Integrator/Layout, Calibre (DRC/LVS/3DSTACK) or similar EDA cockpit solutions.
• Familiarity with IC/package layout tools (Cadence APD, Synopsys IC Compiler, Cadence Innovus).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BSEE) or Master’s (MSEE) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). The role typically expects 4+ years of semiconductor or package design experience.
