Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide application and customer-facing technical support for Monolithic Power Systems' analog/mixed-signal power management ICs and system-level solutions. Work with design engineers, sales channels, and customers to specify products, resolve system issues, and support joint development programs.
The role supports customer accounts within a geographic territory, involves travel to customer sites, and coordinates technical matters with design centers and factory engineering.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: 5β6 years in analog power management electronics, field applications, design, or testing in the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer support, program management, and technical enablement:
- Provide technical support to customers and sales channel partners across the assigned territory.
- Coordinate technical issues with factory and design centers as needed.
- Manage joint development programs with customers and identify new application opportunities.
- Contribute to new product specifications and support product promotion activities with HQ.
- Collaborate with customers on system architecture, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
- Lead technical demonstrations and hands-on evaluations using EVBs and evaluation kits.
- Develop and deliver technical training for internal teams and customers.
- Travel to customer sites within the region as required.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills for successful performance:

Must-have: 5β6 years hands-on experience in analog power management electronics or as a Field Application Engineer / design/testing role in the semiconductor industry.

Must-have: Experience with DC/DC PMICs using I2C or PMBus; automotive experience is required.

Must-have: Strong oral and written communication skills in English and the local language; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Must-have: Willingness to travel to support customer sites; able to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter.

Nice-to-have: Experience with motor driver circuits and broad understanding of power-supply architectures and converter control loops.

Nice-to-have: Experience evaluating EVBs and customer boards on the bench and demonstrated leadership in customer-facing technical roles.
