Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical support, troubleshooting, automation, and collaboration with internal engineering teams.

  • Provide frontline technical support for EDA software and tools; resolve customer queries and incidents.
  • Develop and run automation scripts using Python, TCL, and Shell for testing, debugging, and workflow orchestration.
  • Diagnose and reproduce issues on Linux systems; perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex problems.
  • Document resolutions, write knowledge-base articles, and contribute to customer-facing training materials.
  • Monitor support metrics and drive improvements in response time and resolution rate.
  • Manage data exchange across engineering systems and support CAD tool integrations as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • Proficiency in scripting with Python, TCL, and Shell for automation and data processing.
  • Strong Linux knowledge, including command-line proficiency, system administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid electronics knowledge: digital/analog design, VLSI, embedded systems, or emulation concepts.
  • Proven customer support experience with clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with workload managers (Altair Accelerator, Flowtracer, IBM Spectrum LSF, Grid Engine).
  • Experience designing or managing compute clusters and distributed compute environments for chip design workflows.
  • Familiarity with Siemens EDA tools (e.g., Questa, Calibre) and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with hybrid on-prem/cloud EDA workloads, cloud bursting strategies, or containerized workflows (Kubernetes, Docker, Singularity).
  • Understanding of AI/ML applications in chip design (optimization, design-space exploration, intelligent scheduling).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Certifications such as Linux certification (e.g., RHCSA), EDA tool certifications, or VLSI training courses are noted as relevant.
