Application Specific Integrated Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the DFT engineering team responsible for design-for-test (DFT) implementation and ATPG for SoC/ASIC projects. The role focuses on delivering testability solutions, pattern generation and debug, memory and IO test architectures, and clock DFT verification to meet program test requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 5+ years of hands-on DFT and ATPG experience for SoC or ASIC designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementing and validating DFT solutions across digital blocks and full-chip flows, generating and debugging ATPG patterns, and collaborating with RTL, physical design, and verification teams.

• Implement scan and other DFT structures to meet testability goals for SoC/ASIC designs.
• Generate, analyze, and debug ATPG patterns for digital logic and memories.
• Design and validate MBIST architectures and memory diagnostics.
• Develop and validate IO test methodologies for interface and pin-level testing.
• Perform clock DFT design and verification to ensure test coverage and timing closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DFT into the design flow and resolve testability issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DFT and ATPG for SoC or ASIC designs.
• Strong understanding of DFT fundamentals: controllability, observability, and scan-based testing.
• Proven expertise in ATPG pattern generation, analysis, and debug.
• Experience with MBIST: memory test architectures and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of IO Test methodologies for interface and pin-level validation.
• Solid understanding of clock DFT and clock verification concepts.
• Strong grasp of digital design and RTL fundamentals.
• Experience with industry-standard DFT/ATPG EDA tools and effective communication and problem-solving skills.
