Role Summary

Provide technical pre- and post-sales support for Synopsys ZeBu emulation systems, working with customers to deploy, configure, debug, and optimize emulation for complex ASIC and SoC verification and software validation.

This role interfaces directly with customers, sales, and R&D to convert design challenges into working emulation solutions and to feed product gaps back into engineering roadmaps.

Experience Level

Senior level — typically 5+ years of hands-on experience in IC design, verification, emulation, or FPGA prototyping.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include deploying, debugging, and supporting emulation systems and enabling customers to verify large SoC designs.

• Deploy and configure ZeBu emulation systems for evaluations and production; resolve complex bring-up issues on ASIC/SoC designs.
• Debug verification and software validation problems across HDL, HVL, and embedded software layers to identify root causes.
• Conduct presales evaluations and proof-of-concept demos to show how emulation fits customer verification strategies.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support and resolve escalations involving methodology, configuration, performance, or integration.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to document recurring issues, communicate customer requirements, and influence the product roadmap.
• Create application notes, reference flows, and technical collateral to accelerate customer adoption of emulation.
• Analyze customer designs to recommend partitioning, testbench architectures, and co-simulation approaches to maximize emulation throughput and capacity.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for this role.

• 5+ years hands-on experience in IC design, verification, emulation, or FPGA prototyping.
• Strong knowledge of ASIC design verification methodologies, including simulation, testbench development, and coverage-driven verification.
• Proficiency in Verilog and VHDL; solid understanding of design synthesis, timing, and gate-level debug.
• Experience debugging across RTL, testbench, and embedded software layers; able to trace issues to root cause.
• Experience working with emulation platforms, performance tuning, and deployment for large designs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical customer interactions and documentation.
• Nice-to-have: SystemVerilog or C/C++ experience in testbench development or embedded software validation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
