Application Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Entry-level internship within the Global Operations Applications group supporting engineering workflows and design methodology for RF, analog, and digital projects. The intern will assist engineers by automating tasks, running simulations, analyzing results, and preparing technical summaries for stakeholders.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for current college students; no prior full-time experience required.

Responsibilities

Typical assignments are project-based and aligned with business needs; responsibilities include:

  • Assess current engineering workflows to identify improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Develop scripts (Python where applicable) to streamline processes and improve consistency.
  • Support development and deployment of methodologies for RF, analog, and digital design flows.
  • Analyze simulation and engineering data, summarize findings, and prepare clear presentations for technical and business audiences.
  • Perform RF network simulations and support related analysis as needed.

Key qualifications and skills for successful candidates.

  • Coursework or exposure in analog and RF circuit design (must-have).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (must-have).
  • Ability to analyze technical data and present results clearly (must-have).
  • Strong interest in RF engineering, cellular communications, or related fields (must-have).
  • Python scripting experience (preferred).
  • Experience or comfort performing RF simulations (preferred).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program; preferred fields: Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Posted GPA expectation: 3.3 or higher.
