Application Engineer - Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical support and integration assistance for Synopsys Interface IP used in ASIC/SoC designs. Work with customers and internal teams to resolve integration issues, support silicon bring-up, and ensure successful deployment of high-speed interface IP.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects an experienced engineer with substantial hands-on ASIC/SoC design and application engineering background.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing integration support, debugging, and collaboration across product and engineering teams.
- Support Interface IP customers through integration across the SoC design flow.
- Perform technical issue resolution and conduct integration reviews.
- Assist with silicon and system bring-up and debug critical issues.
- Collaborate with internal product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver customer-aligned solutions.
- Monitor industry standards and protocol developments relevant to Interface IP.
- Travel occasionally to support customer engagements and on-site debugging.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and environment familiarity; listed as essential vs. desirable.
- Must-have: Proficiency in RTL coding with Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, and static timing analysis (STA).
- Must-have: Experience with high-speed protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, and DDR.
- Must-have: Familiarity with UNIX environments and ASIC/SoC tape-out flows.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of CDC, RDC, lint, and DFT.
- Nice-to-have: Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating across teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on ASIC/SoC design. The posting also specifies 5+ years of experience in design, verification, or application engineering.
