Role Summary

The Application Engineer provides technical pre-sales and post-sales support to customers in back-end physical design. The role focuses on helping customers implement and optimize place-and-route flows, floorplanning, clock tree synthesis, and timing closure.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer support, technical enablement, and troubleshooting across physical design flows.

• Provide expert pre-sales demonstrations and post-sales technical support for physical-design tool flows.
• Work with customers to analyze and resolve issues in floorplanning, place-and-route, clock tree synthesis, and STA.
• Develop and validate customer-specific flows and scripts; reproduce and debug customer-reported problems.
• Deliver technical presentations, training, and documentation to customer engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product R&D to provide field feedback and contribute to product improvements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience are listed first; optional skills are indicated as nice-to-have.

• Experience in back-end digital implementation: floorplanning, placement and routing, clock tree synthesis, and static timing analysis.
• Experience in the microelectronics or EDA industry.
• Strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with synthesis, formal verification, or DFT methodologies.

Education Requirements

BSc, MSc, or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institution; degrees in closely related technical fields are acceptable.
