Application Engineer I: Physical Design - Synthesis and Digital Implementation
Role Summary
Join the Global Customer Success (GCS) team in Belo Horizonte to support customers using digital design and implementation flows. The role focuses on improving customer productivity, debugging complex issues, and delivering practical solutions for synthesis and digital implementation.
This is a full-time, CLT-based position (40 hours/week) located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Application Engineer I). Suitable for early-career engineers; typically 0–3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support and solutions to customers and collaborate with R&D to improve tool adoption and usage.
- Assist customers to enhance productivity and resolve complex issues in digital design flows.
- Debug tool and flow-related problems and produce actionable fixes or workarounds.
- Build technical credibility with customers and internal R&D teams.
- Create high-impact knowledge assets, tool adoption kits, and technical documentation to increase customer self-service.
- Develop out-of-the-box solutions using tool capabilities and scripting.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one effectiveness; degree requirements are listed under Education Requirements below.
- Familiarity with CMOS fundamentals, digital electronics, and process technologies.
- Basic scripting skills (Perl, TCL, or Python).
- Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills for customer-facing support and collaboration with R&D.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to physical design flows.
- Experience with Cadence digital tools.
Education Requirements
Complete Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field is required.
