APAC Digital SoC Test Engineer (Structural ATPG)
QualcommJob Title
APAC Digital SoC Test Engineer (Structural ATPG)
Role Summary
The engineer will develop Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) test code and methods for SoC silicon validation, characterization, and manufacturing enablement. The role focuses on digital/structural ATPG testing and test development for Qualcomm SoC products.
Work involves silicon bring-up, test method development, data review and cross-functional collaboration with Design, DFT, Process, Product, and Manufacturing teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career - typically requires about 2+ years of industry experience in hardware or product/test engineering (see Education Requirements for degree/experience combinations).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test development, validation, and manufacturing support for digital SoC products.
- Develop and validate ATE test programs and test methods for production and characterization.
- Work with Advantest 93K or Teradyne UFlex/IFlex test systems for test development and execution.
- Execute silicon validation, characterization, test debug, and root-cause analysis.
- Perform data review and analyze test results; feed insights back to Design/DFT/Process teams.
- Support manufacturing enablement and yield improvement activities.
- Use common lab/test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, time-interval/network analyzers) for debugging and validation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; listed items exclude formal degree requirements (see Education Requirements).
- Minimum ~2 years industry experience as a Product/Test Engineer with hands-on use of Advantest 93K or Teradyne UFlex/IFlex.
- Understanding of VLSI technologies and familiarity with digital baseband SoC products.
- Familiarity with digital communication concepts and semiconductor physics.
- Practical experience operating common test and measurement equipment for debug and validation.
- Ability to perform test debug, data review, and cross-team technical collaboration.
- Preferred: experience or exposure to structural ATPG, scan, and MBIST flows.
- Nice-to-have: programming skills (C/C++, VB, Java, Python), data-analytics tools (O+, Data Power, Exensio) and basic machine-learning knowledge.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus typically 2+ years of relevant hardware/test engineering experience; OR Master's degree in a related field with ~1+ year of relevant experience; OR a PhD in a related technical field. Related practical work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree where indicated.
