Analog Transceiver Design Engineer (f/m/d)

Role Summary

Design, simulate, and validate high-speed analog transmitter and receiver circuits for next-generation Optical Compute Interconnect (OCI) products. Work across analog, photonics, packaging, layout, and digital teams from concept through silicon validation.

Role focuses on developing power-efficient analog front ends that interface with integrated photonic devices and supporting silicon bring-up and lab characterization.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 4–5 years of industry experience in analog IC design or equivalent demonstrated impact.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include circuit design, simulation, co-design with photonics/packaging, and support of silicon validation.

  • Design and simulate high-speed analog building blocks: transmit drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, CTLEs, bias circuits, and other TX/RX functions.
  • Perform AC, transient, noise, jitter, linearity, PVT, Monte Carlo, and post-layout simulations to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with photonics and packaging teams to co-design electrical interfaces and account for device/interconnect parasitics.
  • Support silicon bring-up, laboratory characterization, debugging, and correlation between simulation and measured silicon.
  • Work with system architects and senior designers to implement analog IP meeting OCI performance targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: 4–5 years of industry experience in analog IC design or equivalent demonstrated impact.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of CMOS analog circuit design fundamentals (gain, bandwidth, noise, linearity, feedback, stability, device parasitics, signal integrity).
  • Must-have: Experience designing high-speed analog blocks such as transmit drivers, TIAs, CTLEs, limiting amplifiers, or SerDes front ends.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with analog simulation and verification methodologies (AC, transient, noise, jitter, linearity, PVT, Monte Carlo, post-layout).
  • Must-have: Strong simulation, debugging, and data-analysis skills; ability to interpret simulation results and silicon characterization data.
  • Must-have: Tool experience: Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre; MATLAB and/or Python for analysis and automation; post-layout extraction and verification tools; familiarity with high-speed lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, BER testers).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with RF/high-frequency tools (e.g., Keysight ADS), EM simulation tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS), high-speed optical transceivers, integrated photonic systems, or advanced SerDes designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience supporting silicon bring-up and debugging of prototype or production silicon.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is listed as preferred; the posting also accepts equivalent demonstrated practical experience.
