Job Title

Analog Transceiver Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, simulate, and validate high-speed analog transmitter and receiver circuits for optical compute interconnect products. Work across analog systems, photonics, packaging, layout and digital teams from concept through silicon validation.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” targeted at engineers with approximately 4–5 years of industry experience in analog IC design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include analog front-end design, verification, and silicon bring-up for high-speed optical interconnects.

  • Design and simulate high-speed analog blocks: transmit drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, CTLEs, bias circuits, and related transmitter/receiver functions.
  • Perform AC, transient, noise, jitter, linearity, PVT, Monte Carlo, and post-layout simulations; optimize performance and robustness.
  • Co-design electrical interfaces with photonics and packaging teams, accounting for device and interconnect parasitics.
  • Support silicon bring-up, laboratory characterization, debugging, and correlation between simulation and measured silicon.
  • Collaborate with system architects and senior designers to deliver analog IP meeting generation performance targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Education requirements are summarized separately below.

  • Proven experience in CMOS analog circuit design and optimization: gain, bandwidth, noise, linearity, feedback, stability, and signal integrity.
  • Practical experience designing high-speed analog front ends (transmit drivers, TIAs, CTLEs, limiting amplifiers, or SerDes front ends).
  • Strong simulation, debugging, and data-analysis skills; able to interpret simulation results and silicon characterization data.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre and post-layout extraction/verification flows.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python for analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with RF/high-frequency tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS) and high-speed laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, BER testers).
  • Excellent communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Nice-to-have: prior work on high-speed optical transceivers, integrated photonic systems, advanced SerDes designs, or direct silicon bring-up of prototype chips.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience. The posting expects ~4–5 years of industry experience in analog IC design (equivalent practical experience accepted).
