Analog Mixed-Signal IC Designer
Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal (AMS) circuits for next-generation Apple system-on-chip (SoC) products. Work within the Silicon Engineering team to develop AMS building blocks and integrate them into high-speed serial links and SoC subsystems.
Experience Level
Mid-level — guidance indicates at least 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent advanced degree.
Responsibilities
Deliver AMS circuit designs from concept through silicon bring-up and production support.
- Architect, design, simulate and verify AMS blocks (bandgap, bias, LDOs, amplifiers, comparators, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, oscillators, filters).
- Design and optimize circuits for high-speed serial links and mixed-signal interfaces.
- Perform feasibility studies, pre- and post-layout simulations, and verification.
- Participate in layout design and post-layout verification workflows.
- Support lab testing, silicon debug, and production qualification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analog blocks into SoCs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- Deep understanding of analog mixed-signal design, with emphasis on high-speed serial link design.
- Experience designing the listed analog/Mixed-Signal circuit blocks and addressing their practical limitations.
- Knowledge of mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise design techniques.
- Experience with high-speed digital circuits and advanced CMOS process nodes.
- Practical experience in simulation, verification, layout and post-layout simulation and analysis.
- Experience supporting lab bring-up, silicon debug and production testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with at least 3 years of related experience, or a PhD.
