Job Title

Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for the architecture, circuit design, verification, layout oversight, and silicon evaluation of CMOS mixed-signal analog and digital blocks. Typical blocks include data converters, PLLs, filters, and voltage regulators.

The role works within an IC design team and spans system definition, circuit simulation, implementation, and post-silicon validation using tools such as Cadence ADE and MATLAB.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting expects several years of practical analog/mixed-signal IC design experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience combinations).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include full lifecycle analog/mixed-signal design and verification.

  • Define architecture and circuit specifications from system-level requirements.
  • Perform system- and circuit-level simulation and analysis.
  • Design and verify analog/mixed-signal blocks (data converters, PLLs, filters, regulators, etc.).
  • Define verification plans and run complex simulations and analyses.
  • Oversee layout activities and participate in silicon bring-up and evaluation.
  • Create, run, and review complex test programs; mentor and review work of junior engineers.
  • Write clear technical documentation and design descriptions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external users, and vendors; research industry trends relevant to analog/mixed-signal ICs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design and verification.
  • Practical experience with Cadence ADE and SPICE-based simulation tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB for system-level modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Verilog/VHDL or mixed-signal verification flows (as applicable).
  • Ability to run and interpret complex simulations and measurement data.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; effective technical documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills using deductive and inductive reasoning.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 2+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience; or Master's degree with 4+ years; or PhD with 2+ years. The posting allows these degree-and-experience combinations as alternatives to demonstrate required expertise in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design.
