Job Title
Analog/Mixed Signal IC Component Engineer
Role Summary
Manage the technical lifecycle and foundry-level engagement for custom analog/mixed-signal semiconductor ICs used in Cisco's coherent and client optics products. The role partners with design, supply chain, quality, and external foundry teams to ensure component performance and supply integrity.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, component engineering, or hardware engineering.
Responsibilities
Key duties include technical oversight of components, foundry interaction, and cross-functional coordination to maintain product quality and supply continuity.
- Drive technical lifecycle management for custom analog/mixed-signal semiconductor components.
- Engage and influence foundry partners to align processes and ensure quality compliance.
- Validate component performance and quality for high-speed optical transceiver applications.
- Coordinate between design, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Manage Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and End-of-Life (EOL) events to mitigate supply disruption.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.
-
Must-have: 3+ years experience in semiconductor manufacturing, component engineering, or hardware engineering.
-
Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor foundry technologies and experience working with foundry partners.
-
Must-have: Working knowledge of analog/mixed-signal ICs used in high-speed optical transceivers.
-
Must-have: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage PCNs/EOL processes.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with analog/mixed-signal CMOS nodes (65 nm, 45 nm, 28 nm, 22FD-SOI).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with JEDEC reliability standards and industry best practices.
-
Nice-to-have: Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with ML/AI methods for component analysis.
