Job Title

Analog/Mixed Signal IC Component Engineer

Role Summary

The Component Engineer manages custom analog/mixed-signal semiconductor ICs for Cisco's coherent and client optics products. The role focuses on technical lifecycle management, foundry-level engagement, and maintaining component integrity across design, supply chain, and quality teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, component engineering, or hardware engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical lifecycle oversight, foundry engagement, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Manage technical lifecycle and foundry interactions for custom analog/mixed-signal ICs.
  • Validate component performance and ensure quality compliance with manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate between design, supply chain, quality, and external foundry partners.
  • Manage Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and End-of-Life (EOL) events to prevent supply disruptions.
  • Provide technical guidance to align foundry process flows with product requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills:

  • 3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, component engineering, or hardware engineering.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor foundry technologies; experience engaging directly with foundries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of analog/mixed-signal ICs used in high-speed optical transceivers.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and translate requirements across cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with analog/mixed-signal CMOS nodes (e.g., 65 nm, 45 nm, 28 nm, 22FD‑SOI).
  • Familiarity with JEDEC reliability standards and industry best practices.
  • Experience with ML/AI methods for data analysis.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field is specified (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
